About us
P & S Timbrell Decorators Ltd have been trading since 1992, when Father and Son Peter and Stephen Timbrell decided to join forces and work together. The roots of the business however date back to the 1960’s, when Peter embarked as a sole trader in the painting and decorating trade, after completing his apprenticeship with a local building company. Steve's son Josh joined the business in 2018 to continue the family trade.
Many things may have changed in the intervening seventy years, but decorating remains a skills led craft whereby experience is invaluable. Nowadays P & S Timbrell Decorators Ltd employs five full time decorators, along with Carolyn Timbrell who manages the office.
In May 2024 we were awarded the Royal Warrant to HM The King in recognition of our high quality service. Previously to this we had held, and renewed successfully 3 times, the Royal Warrant to HRH The Prince of Wales since 2006. As a requirement of this we undertake an Environmental Review and Environmental Impact Assessment of our business practices, and we bi-annually review our performance against set criteria and implement any positive initiatives. In 2020 we embarked on a partnership with The Planet Mark to record and reduce our carbon footprint.
As members of the Painting and Decorating Association we have won the National Small Contractors Trophy Award three times. These prestigious accolades were for decorating projects at St Peters Catholic Church in Gloucester (2009), a large country house refurbishment at Horton Hall near Bristol (2010), and Codrington Court, Chipping Sodbury (2021). Very different jobs but all demonstrated our commitment to customer care, project management skills, and painting and decorating ability. We have also been Highly Commended many times and in 2022 we won the Decorative Trophy Award.
